Bottomline Technologies Named Among Top Bank Technology Innovators for 2007

Bottomline’s Global Cash Management Solution Recognized by Bank Technology News’ Annual Innovators Ranking for Advanced Straight-through Processing and International Payment Capabilities

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. –November 12, 2007 -  Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a leading provider of collaborative payment and invoice automation solutions, today announced that it has been named one of The Innovators 2007, an annual ranking published by Bank Technology News. The company was recognized as one of 25 top bank technology innovators for advanced capabilities within its WebSeries® Global Cash Management Platform.

Each year the publication examines the most pressing issues driving technology innovation and business results in the financial services industry.  Bank Technology News’ ‘Innovators’ ranking pays tribute to the 25 industry players whose contributions within the banking industry are “changing the rules of the game.”

“Innovation continues to affect the way that banks operate and address emerging opportunities around the globe,” said Holly Sraeel, Editor in Chief of Bank Technology News. “The impact of technology on financial institutions has altered the way in which they interact with customers, giving retail, small businesses and large corporations access to a vast array of choices on how, when and where they conduct their financial business.”

Bottomline’s WebSeries Global Cash Management solution provides banks and financial institutions the flexibility and scalability required to address the cash management challenges of their corporate clients. Offering a single platform for originating and managing payments activity worldwide, this modular solution leverages straight-through processing (STP) capabilities, including multi-bank, multi-currency data integration, global payment validation and support for multiple languages and double-byte characters to allow users to meet global information reporting requirements.

“The investments we’ve made in our banking platform and the expansion of our global banking capabilities ensure that our customers are well-positioned to service the demands of their largest corporate clients,” said Rob Eberle, President and CEO of Bottomline Technologies. “To be recognized by Bank Technology News as a top innovator is confirmation that the cash management solution we’ve developed is unique in its ability to address the complex global payments, reporting and straight-through processing capabilities that banks require.”

Editor’s Note: ‘The Innovators 2007’ will be celebrated at an awards dinner on Monday, November 12, 2007, at the Wynn Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.  To read more about Bottomline's recognition as a top 25 Innovator by Bank Technology News, visit www.banktechnews.com.
