BankScan
BankScan is a Bank Account Number and Sort Code validation utility for Windows.
BankScan allows the user to perform an immediate validation of a customer's bank details using the latest information supplied by BACS Ltd. Failure of a check alerts the user to obtain corrected information from the customer before the data is sent to BACS Ltd.
For the sake of accuracy, the recommended best practice for entry of bank details is that they are only keyed into a system once. Validation of these details makes administration more efficient and will reduce the number of returned debit instructions, thus allowing earlier collection of funds and avoiding the need for costly error correction procedures.
BankScan will accept bank account numbers for those banks with number systems that are not the standard eight numeric digits and will reformat automatically.
BankScan is an application API with a monthly file update, which users can integrate into their own software systems.
BankScan can operate in three modes
- Single sort code and account number pair validation
- MultiScan to scan whole files of information validating many sort code and account number pairs at a time.
- Bankscan Two has the ability to return any field on the ISCD file whilst validating the sort code and account number.
